Removing the Final Barriers to Becoming a Doctor

The Emezu Foundation supports exceptional female medical students in Nigeria who are approaching the final stage of their training but face financial barriers that could prevent them from completing medical school.

By removing that final barrier, we hope to help talented future doctors graduate with confidence, enter the profession with dignity and go on to make a meaningful contribution to the communities they serve.

Backing potential. Removing barriers. Building futures.

Helping future doctors cross the finish line…

Serve with purpose • Pursue excellence • Lead with integrity • Create opportunities • Respect others • Commit to growth

The final year of medical school can bring significant financial pressure. We help promising female medical students overcome that final hurdle, complete their training and begin serving their communities. Scholarships are awarded through a competitive selection process based on financial need, academic achievement, leadership potential and character.

The scholarship may cover:

  • Final-year tuition fees

  • Professional examination fees

  • Medical induction fees

  • Other essential graduation-related costs

Applications for the inaugural Emezu Foundation Scholarship will be open on 1st January 2027 and close 31st January 2027.
