‘Emezu’ - To complete…
The Emezu Foundation was established to support exceptional medical students facing financial hardship at a critical point in their education.
Our flagship programme, the Emezu Final-Year Medical Scholarship, provides financial support to students approaching the completion of their medical degree in Nigeria, helping ensure that financial circumstances do not stand between years of hard work and qualification as a doctor.
But our ambition extends beyond financial support.
Every Emezu Scholarship recipient also makes a simple commitment to mentor at least one person during their lifetime and help create an opportunity for someone coming after them.
We believe education creates opportunity, and opportunity carries a responsibility to create opportunities for others.
More than a scholarship
Upon successfully completing their medical degree and entering the medical profession, recipients are invited to participate in the Give-Forward Project. You become an Emezu scholarship recipient when you receive the scholarship but become an Emezu scholar when you complete the Give-Forward Project.

To build a generation of doctors whose opportunities extend beyond themselves.
Over time, we hope the Emezu Scholars community will become a network of doctors, mentors and leaders who use their education not only to build successful careers, but to strengthen the communities and people around them.
We believe that one opportunity can change the course of a life. By investing in promising women at a defining stage of their medical education, we hope to create an impact that extends beyond one scholar to her patients, profession and community.

Dr. Gift Emezu
FOUNDER
The Emezu Foundation was founded by Dr. Gift Emezu, a UK-based doctor, from the belief that financial hardship should not prevent a capable student who has already travelled most of the journey through medical school from completing it.

Dr. Ufuoma Agadumo-Comsa
Trustee
Dr. Comsa is a GP Registrar currently based in Ireland who is passionate about leadership, education, and peer support. She has a strong interest in empowering others through mentorship and creating supportive environments where individuals can grow both personally and professionally.

Dr. Sherifat Yusuf
Trustee
Dr. Yusuf is a UK-based doctor who strongly believes in the transformative power of education. She is the co-founder of D AC Academy and the first President of Nigerian Doctors in the UK.
